A networking day for sharing ideas about ancient material religion.

This will be a full-day event (10.30am-4.30pm - see detailed programme below) at the FutureLearn building in Camden Town, London (1-11 Hawley Crescent, London, NW1 8NP).

This is a free event but spaces are limited so please follow the link below to book your place via EventBrite.

Programme

10am: Tea and coffee available

10.30-11.15am: Welcome and introductions.

11.15-12pm: ‘What do we mean by ‘the study of ancient material religion’? A discussion session led by Eleanor Betts, Emma-Jayne Graham, Jessica Hughes and Marion Bowman.

12-1pm : ‘(Ancient) material religion in museums?’ A discussion session led by Crispin Paine

1pm-2pm: Lunch

2-3.30pm: ‘Ancient Trees, Contemporary Rivers: what does animism have to do with our environmental crisis?’ A discussion session led by Ailsa Hunt and Graham Harvey

3.30-4pm: Tea/coffee break

4-4.30pm: Workshop session: reflections and future directions

4.30pm: Close
